Overview

The ALERT Man-Overboard Alarm System includes an automatic, water-activated Transmitter (ALERT2 Transmitter and/or ALERT418 Transmitter) and an on-vessel ALERT2 Receiver. The Transmitter broadcasts to the vessel upon submersion into the water, immediately notifying the crew of a fall overboard.

All these products have been created to alert the crew that a man-overboard situation exists and rescuing that person is greatly improved because of the quick response of the ALERT Man-Overboard Alarm System.

Alerts in Seconds

When every second counts, the ALERT system instantaneously alarms the vessel, providing the crew the critical extra seconds needed for a successful man overboard rescue. Unlike AIS, the response of the ALERT System is immediate. There is no lag time connecting with satellites.

Wired for Engine Kill

For Singlehanders and Solo Fisherman, the ALERT System can be wired to the boat engine to shut down in the event of a fall overboard, giving the man-overboard the opportunity to get back to the vessel.

Automatically Activated

The lightweight water-activated Transmitter easily attaches to a Personal Flotation Device. Upon immersion, the Transmitter instantly alerts the crew of a man-overboard. The proprietary 418Mhz frequency allows it to be automatically activated so it doesn’t have to rely on additional equipment to be triggered.

Plots Overboard Waypoint

The ALERT Receiver can be connected to a compatible GPS plotter to instantly mark the location of the fall overboard. Making it easier to home in the person that fell overboard.

Some fields of expertise

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.
It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy

Riverland AG operating a grain terminal in Shakopee, MN was interested in purchasing the ALERT2 Man-Overboard Alarm System to offer greater security to their employees who off load grain from barges on the Minnesota River. Randy Donnell, Terminal Manager was in the process of testing our ALERT2 system when an actual Man-Overboard occurrence occurred. “We have received and installed the base and attached the transmitters to the vests. Our base unit is up high and 300-400’ from the barges. We tested the unit by going the furthest away that we could and getting behind a barge. That test was successful. One of our guys decided to do a real life test this morning…much to his chagrin. The Alert2 worked perfectly.”

Fortunately the occurrence was not a fatality and proved the reliability of the ALERT2 Man-Overboard Alarm System. An order for the product came a few days later. To further enhance the ALERT2’s quick response, Riverland AG installed a low-cost peizo alarm that easily connects to the back of the ALERT2 Receiver. By attaching the peizo alarm to the receiver, a louder and more remote alarm can be sounded and responded to.

Seconds mean everything in a man overboard situation. We took the ALERT Man-Overboard Alarm System a step further and set it up to alert our dispatchers, who can then mobilize additional support if needed. It really quickens our overall response.
